I came across a D.I.Y 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2009 fabric necklace - courtesy of
P.S - I made this... - and decided, despite past D.I.Y failures, to attempt the seemingly uncomplicated instructions. The biggest problem I had was finding a fabric that didn't fray into oblivion. In the end I chose a bone white elastic (the instructions suggested upholstery trim), silver beads, white ribbon for the tie and suspender clips to join eveything together. Make sense? I didn't think so. Above are a few pictures of the finished product. Not exactly designer quality, but until I can afford the real thing...
