All Things Chanel

I want.

RAFW - Jayson Brunsdon

For me and from the reviews I've read, Jayson Brunsdon's collection has been the standout during RAFW. Inspired by the iconic Australian woman, in particular his mother, Brunsdon has created a style throwback to the 1950's and 1960's. Capri pants, high waisted and high hemmed cocktail shorts, ivory coats and elegant cocktail dresses. It reminds me of warm days on the beach, cocktails at sunset and the endless haze of cigarette smoke.

RAFW - Dion Lee

It's all very futuristic, slightly Star Trek and just a little Japanese. But it's also very modern, astonishingly detailed and doubtlessly beautiful. Dion Lee is given massive hype for a very good reason.

RAFW - Zimmermann

I love the water colour florals and soft pastels seen at Zimmermann. Spring time indeed.

RAFW - Nicola Finetti

Please forgive my lack of posts during this critical time (critical being a slight exaggeration) of RAFW, but my A/C adaptor decided to die on me and therefore I have been computerless for the past few days. However as I have an assignment due tomorrow (which I am currently taking a break from) my lovely friend Jenny (previously mentioned) has lent me hers, which means my computer once again has life. Now just a warning, prepare yourself for an onslaught of posts on all the magical fashion moments I've missed. To begin with: Nicola Finetti, my favourite collection showcased on day one. The turn of the century french romance mixed with the modernity of clean lines and impeccable structure created the kind of clothes I unashamedly covet. Nicola Finetti always manages to create lust worthy clothes, but what I adore most is that while many designers were experimenting with pattern he chose to create a collection that played solely with colour and line.

RAFW - Bec & Bridge

I honestly don't know where to start. The gorgeous muted floral dress, the wide intricate studded belt or the kaleidoscope patterned mini dress? All I know is that I want every single item for myself.

RAFW - Camilla and Marc

I think I maybe inlove. Nude fabrics, flashes of metallic, exaggerated Balmain-esque shoulders and loose unstructured detailing? It all leaves me a little breathless. I love Camillia and Marc at the best of times, but gosh, the brother and sister duo have created a collection that is highly lust worthy, sexy and effortlessly relaxed.

RAFW - Ginger & Smart

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) Spring/Summer 2009/2010 began today, meaning that for the next week I'll be overdosing on lovely Australian fashion. Happiness. Today kicked off with more than a few of my favourite Australian designers showcasing their spring/summer collections, though lusting after gorgeous spring creations on a rainy April day seems a little cruel. Above are my favourite looks from Ginger & Smart, who had a rather inconsistent collection, but displayed some beautiful maxi dresses in block cobalt blue and and Matthew Williamson-eque kaleidoscope pattern.

The Young Emily Blunt

I realise that I have been posting an awfully lot of magazine editorials lately (see Abby Lee Kershaw, Vogue China, Natalia Vodianova) but I came across these gorgeous photos of Emily Blunt in the May 2009 edition of Vanity Fair and I had to share them. I think Emily Blunt is great, she seems very nice and intelligent and besides the clothes she was my favourite part of The Devil Wears Prada. These pictures by photographer Michael Roberts are styled after Emily's latest film (The Young Victoria) and channel the excess and exaggerated femininity of that time.

Today's Inspiration - Brigitte Bardot

Tousled blonde locks, kohl rimmed eyes, sex kitten clothes and free spirit attitude? I love it.

I Heart It

I'm feeling a little melancholy at the moment so I thought I would share some equally melancholy images I've procured from we heart it.

What a Shame

There are many things that I can't do. Speak French for example or cartwheel without somehow hurting myself. I'm sure given a lack of distractions and some serious help I could probably speak french, however I will never, never be able to wear flesh toned clothes. I'm blonde and have fair skin, as in fair skin like Anne Hathaway fair skin. This means that I must at all costs avoid nude apparel as I don't wish people to think of me as a washed up c-grade actress who turned to drugs to overcome her loneliness in the big city. The problem is I am nearly always drawn to sheer nude coloured clothes. They are so delicate and feminine and look gorgeous on everyone else, not mention that nude is such a great autumn/winter staple. Basically I'm feeling a little sorry for myself, but nothing a cup of tea and the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar won't fix. Images: style.com

Coachella Valley Music Festival

How gorgeous do all these girls look in their Coachella Valley Musical Festival get ups? Warm weather, sunscreen, bottled water and crazily good music. I'm very jealous.

Alexa Chung

No, I'm not hopping on the Alexa Chung bandwagon. However I will readily admit the girl knows how to dress. I haven't seen her wear an outfit that I don't immediately want to steal for myself (well apart from the strapless pink ruffled number). She also manages to achieve the Kate Moss feat of "I've-just-thrown-this-together" effortless vibe, which I so desperately wish I could pull off. I've posted just a few of my favourite looks that I am unashamedly lusting after.

My Current Obsessions

Gosh.

Natalia & V Magazine

Natalia Vodianova is featured on the cover and in the pages of the March 2009 edition of V Magazine. Photographed by Mario Testino (can this man do no wrong?) Natalia looks absolutely stunning. I have always been a fan of Natalia, from the first time I started devouring fashion magazines until now. There is something otherworldly about her, which in my opinion few other models possess. From the neon green light to the slightly futuristic clothes these photos are a particular favourite.
