Not So Much Happening Here

The past week has been so hectic I've rarely ventured outside. Today I had planned to get a little shopping done, browse the op-shops, score myself some pastry delights and so on. Instead my hometown was hit by a storm so violent I was little worried by house would be swept away Wizard of Oz style. So I stayed inside, re-watched Howl's Moving Castle for the millionth time, started reading Hunter S. Thompson's Hell's Angels, fringed a white tee (inspired by 4th and Bleeker, above) and generally lazed about. Hopefully tomorrow's weather will improve and I'll actually have something interesting to say. Until then.

Random Loveliness

Like many bloggers I have a folder on my computer filled to the brim with images that I find inspiring and beautiful. They've been collected while I've spent hours scrolling through other blogs, Vogue and weheartit and I hope you find them as lovely as I do.

Completely Gratuitous

Male models outside Dolce & Gabbana. Sigh.

Chloe in Soho

If you have read my blog before you'll realise that I'm a little obsessed with Chloe Sevigny. She is insanely good in Big Love and has such confidence in whatever she's wearing I find myself waxing lyrical about the most horrid of clothes. That said, I really like what she is wearing here. The heels are fantastic, the colour looks great on her and the red lipstick is killer. Nice work.

White on White

I love everything about this look. From the hair, the dress and those wedges. This is why I love fashion, the moment that everything comes together perfectly.

Birdy & Me

I've just discovered illustrator Kelly Smith and her blog Birdie & Me. I strongly suggest checking it out as it littered with draw dropping editorials and her own fantastic fashion illustrations. I can't decide if I want to buy the Erin Wasson print or Stella McCartney. Such a hard choice!

Coming Home

Sunday I made the five hour drive from Adelaide to my hometown, only to be rewarded by freezing temperatures and a headache. The headache has since subsided and I am reminded why I love returning to the country. First and foremost, I get to spend time with my family and friends and cuddle my puppy Audrey. Second I am treated to home cooking, which far outweighs anything I can scrounge up and third, I can see the stars. While I'm here I plan to raid the op-shops (vintage clutches for $3.00 anyone?), visit my favourite bakery for some mouth watering goodies and perhaps even finish that assignment that is due on Friday.

New Buys

I've grown increasingly fond of long pendant necklaces and fell head over heels for this silver pendant (top, middle), by Australian jewellery designer Nicole Fendel, as soon as I saw it. The pendant is inscribed with the saying, 'what lies behind us and what lies before us, are tiny matters compared to what lies within' and is so lovely I've worn it nearly everyday since I bought it. The second pendant is by Elke Kramer, another Australian, who designed a range for Sportsgirl earlier this year. I loved this necklace and was so excited to see it on sale that I snapped it up right away. Best part is that the pendant spins from black to white. Gosh, I love buying new things.
P.S: Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures.

Timeout

I've spent the past month feeling more than a little sorry for myself. Personally I think I have a very good reason. First I had the flu, which meant I spent a few days in bed contemplating writing my last will and testament. This was followed by a two week middle ear infection, which thankfully cleared up a few days ago, only for me to be struck down by a cold. So I'm calling a time out on winter, on the whole flu season and on my traitorous immune system. Please I beg of you, give me a break.

Smoking

Personally I find there is something very romantic and beautiful about images of people smoking. Perhaps it has something to do with watching Casablanca one to many times, either way here are a few gorgeous images procured from weheartit.com and Le Smoking.

The Boyfriend Tee Fan Club

My white slouchy boyfriend tee is currently my favourite wardrobe staple and I've worn it to the point were the material has grown thin in parts. The boyfriend tee is so easy to mix and match, it's classic, elegance and sexy without being overtly so, which is why I love seeing how other people wear theirs. Above are a few of my favourite looks from elle.com.

Emma Watson & Burberry

I like Emma Watson, she seems very lovely and down to earth and has yet to enter rehab and flash her underwearless crotch (which in my opinion is a big bonus). The above photos are by Mario Testino and are for the new Burberry ad campaign.
