I don't think I've ever been so jealous. I want a monkey all of my own.Images: 4th and Bleeker
I understand there is a little bit of a love/hate reaction to the new Chanel ad campaign featuring Lily Allen as the face of the Chanel handbag line, Chanel Coco Cocoon. Personally I think Lily Allen looks gorgeous and I'm loving the nod to the awesomeness that is Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned Karl Lagerfeld can do no wrong.
Last night my lovely friend Steph and I headed to the Piccadilly Cinema on O'Connell St. to catch the premiere of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. As a bit of a Harry Potter nerd I was incredibly excited to score some tickets a few hours before the big show. Personally I loved it, sure I was slightly heartbroken Gary Oldman was no longer sharing his awesomeness, but my love for red haired geeks more than made up for it. Anyway the purpose of this post was to share some pictures of my new patent leather Marc by Marc Jacobs ankle boots (which I wore last night, see the not so subtle link?). I've been on the look out for the perfect pair of black ankle boots for months and fell head over heels when I spotted these bad boys. My favourite part has to be the cobalt blue/turquoise trim. Shoe lust.
In my opinion Karl Lagerfeld is regarded as a genius for a very good reason. The all white Spring 2009 Couture Collection is as close to perfection one can get and though I don't believe this current Fall collection quite lived up to expectations, it did come awfully close. The lace tights, nude chiffon dresses, midnight blue and raspberry coloured sheaths, not to mention the jewelled shoulders, it's all breathtaking. I long for the days when I can afford Chanel.
The spring/summer 2009 season is currently available to pre-order at My Catwalk, which means two things. One, the winter months are coming to an end and two, lots of money shall be spent. Above are just a few of the items that I am lusting after (from top left Nylon Frocks, Alice McCall, Ellery, Nylon Flocks, Alice McCall and Bec & Bridge).
When it comes to Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen's sartorial style, most people fall into two categories. Those who are MK devotees and those who adore Ashley Olsen. Personally I fall into the latter category, there is something about Ashley's streamlined elegance that makes me happy. Now don't get me wrong, MK's choice of accessories makes me green with envy. She is a woman after my own heart who believes the more items of jewellery you wear the better. However Ashley's pared down style, casually curled hair and innate ability to personalise each outfit puts her into another league. Is it possible die from style jealously?
I can't even begin to describe how truly beautiful and impossibly perfect this June/July 2009 OYSTER magazine editorial is. The use of light and shape, not to mention the insane chemistry between the two models, makes this one of the best editorials I've seen in a very long time. I posted one of the images in a previous post, but I am struggling to remember why I didn't post the rest. Perhaps I wanted to keep them to myself just a little bit longer? Either way I hope you love them as much as I do.
